Astrological Sign Leo
The fifth astrological sign in the zodiac is Leo, which originated from the constellation of Leo. Leo, in astrology, is considered to be a positive sign; also known as “masculine”. Being one of the four fixed signs, it is also considered as a fire sign. The planet Sun is the ruler of this astrological star sign. According to the tropical zodiac (or more commonly known as the western zodiac), individuals who are born from July 23 to August 22 are considered to be Leo individuals. The astrological 5th house is associated with Leo, as it is the fifth astrological sign in the zodiac. Individuals whom are associated with the astrological 5th house like games, gambling, children, creativity, pleasures and leisure.
The symbol for the Nemean Lion is Leo. The Nemean Lion was slain by Hercules (Herakles) and was raised to the stars, in honor of Hercules, by Zeus. Leo, in mythology, is sometimes associated with the goddess Sunna, and also gods such as Huitzilopochtli, Helios/Sol and Ra. It is also associated with Apollo, the Greco Roman god. The astrological symbol for Leo which we see today represents the mane and the head of the lion.
There are several personality traits which astrologers assign to the respective astrological signs. Some characteristics of Leo are noble, bright, generous, protective, faithful, loyal, proud, loving, supportive, warm, risk-taking, arrogant, jealous, egotistical, bossy, possessive, materialistic and interfering.
